About Foilbank

Foilbank is a Pokémon TCG collection manager. It tracks every card you own — variants, conditions, purchase info, graded slabs, wishlists, set completion — with live market values pulled daily from TCGplayer.

Why

Collectors deserve a clean, fast, honest tool without ads, without paywalls, without pushing you to buy things. TCG Collector charges a subscription. Collectr wants your data for its trading platform. Every scanner app hides its most useful features behind a purchase. Foilbank is free because it’s a personal project run on free-tier cloud infrastructure. There’s no business model to protect and nothing to sell you.

Who

Built and maintained by Miles Steiner. It runs on Next.js, PostgreSQL, and Tailwind. The source is available on GitHub.

Data sources

• pokemontcg.io — community card database (names, images, rarities, set info).
• TCGCSV — daily mirror of TCGplayer’s product catalog and prices. Fills in newer sets and unnumbered cards that pokemontcg.io doesn’t index yet.
• Frankfurter.app — daily FX rates for currency conversion.

Prices are estimates. Actual sold-for values vary by condition, seller, region, and timing. Don’t rely on Foilbank as the sole basis for insurance, buying, or selling decisions.
